Quality Air means a Quality Finish

Compressed air contamination is a real and costly problem

Compressed air, although safe, powerful and reliable, will contain unwanted contamination in the form of dirt, water and degraded lubricating oil. These contaminants mix together to form an acidic, abrasive sludge even when oil-free compressors are used. A high quality surface finish is essential, especially in the Automotive Industry, where BLISTERS, CRATERS and LOSS OF ADHESION are the common symptoms of contamination. These problems result in costly product spoilage, expensive re-work and loss of valuable production.

Above all, silicone is a problem

Working closely for many years with Automotive manufacturers and the producers of water and solvent based paints, domnick hunter understands the industry and its special needs. Ordinary filters may clean compressed air but can release silicone into the compressed air stream from lubricants, cleaning agents, ‘O’-rings or other component parts. Silicone is recognised as the worst possible contaminant in paint spraying applications and domnick hunter assemble OIL-XPLUS SF filters in a silicone-free atmosphere and manufacturing area using only certified silicone-free components.

Technical Specification

Silicone-Free Filter Grades:


Grade AO - High Efficiency General Purpose Protection For the removal of particles down to 1 micron including coalesced liquid water and oil, providing a maximum remaining oil aerosol content of 0.5mg/m3 @ 21°C (0.6ppm @ 70°F).
Grade AA - High Efficiency Oil Removal Filtration For the removal of particles down to 0.01 micron including water and oil aerosols, providing a maximum remaining oil aerosol content of 0.01mg/m3 @ 21°C (0.01ppm @ 70°F). (Precede with Grade AO filter).
Grade AC/ACS - Activated Carbon Filtration For the removal of oil vapour and hydrocarbon odours giving a maximum remaining oil content of <0.003mg/m3 (<0.003ppm) (excluding methane) @ 21°C (70°F). (AC filter combines AA and AC Grades).
Grade AR - General Purpose Dust Filtration For the removal of dust particles down to 1 micron.

Ordering Example:

To order a 0.01 micron silicone-free filter flowing 30 L/s at 7 bar g (64 cfm at 100 psi g) specify type AA-0030G/SF. Replacement Element is K030AA/SF. †Refers to OIL-XPLUS Grade AC double-stage filters only. **Grade AA and AC required for double stage filter. (Grade AC filters WILL NOT remove CO/CO2 or other toxic gases or fumes). Other silicone-free products are available upon request.
